July 2025 Update

Hey there,

It’s been a while. I just wanted to drop a quick link to https://strava.chadneu.com . It’s a fun lil project I’ve been working on to visualize my strava data in a lil different way. The strava API is rather slow so it won’t be fully updated for another day or two but the data is interesting. Have fun with it.

Shoutout to the author of the tool i’m using. https://github.com/robiningelbrecht/statistics-for-strava/

I’ve updated the How Did This Get Made? archive. It’s 26gb but I also added an RSS feed so people can add it to their podcast apps. I haven’t setup automation for this yet so it won’t stay up-to-date.

Finally, I created a Pacific Northwest fire lookout information page. Hopefully it’s helpful to someone. It includes maps, links and other information related to rentable forest service structures.

Jeff took this too seriously

Jeff…
It’s a movie about a dog vampire. You’re judging it as if you pulled it from the Criterion Collection.

Jeff is talking about the 2012 cinematic marvel that is Vampire Dog.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Chad, what the fuck are you talking about this movie for?” Well, let me be the first, probably, to tell you: Vampire Dog rules. You need to watch it.

Gochugaru Sauce

Let’s keep it going with sauces. This recipe is from The Korean Vegan. Yeung Man Cooking over on Youtube also has a similar peanut sauce but it doesn’t have the gochugaru.

This is my standard spicy sauce for noodles/rice.

  • 1/4 cup rice syrup(or other syrup)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp potato starch(or other starch)
  • 1 tbsp gochugaru(adjust for spice level)
  • grated garlic to taste

Mix everything in a bowl. Whisk to incorporate. Heat over low heat until it thickens.

Some optional things to add might be peanut butter, grated ginseng, sesame oil, etc.
